Renaissance Honolulu Hotel & Spa — a new 299-room hotel located on Kapiolani Boulevard — is slated to open in early 2024, a spokesperson for the hotel recently told PBN in an email.
“Situated near the city’s vibrant epicenter and its world-famous beaches, this brand new 39-story oasis features luxurious rooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and contemporary design,” the spokesperson said. “Renaissance Honolulu caters to the diverse needs of travelers with standout amenities.”
Renaissance Honolulu is the hotel portion of the $500 million twin-tower mixed-use Sky Ala Moana condominium and hotel project, being developed by real estate firm JL Capital. Marriott International was selected in 2021 to brand the hotel portion of the project as The Renaissance Honolulu Hotel, as previously reported by PBN. Highgate will manage the hotel, according to a 2022 announcement from the hospitality investment and management company.
The main lobby of Sky Ala Moana The hotel features a private club lounge; signature restaurant MARA, which will offer Mediterranean dining with tapas and seafood; an Olympic-size lap pool; Himalayan salt saunas; cold plunge baths and steam rooms; a fitness center; yoga studio; and interior artwork by local designer and cultural practitioner Sig Zane. Its rooms also feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows and fully equipped kitchens with deep soak bathtubs, according to the spokesperson. “Renaissance Honolulu is not just a place to stay; it’s a destination that promises to redefine the travel experience and create memories that will last a lifetime,” the spokesperson said.
